XFL's DC Defenders Trolled the New York Guardians After Their Old Tweet Aged Extremely Poorly
By Jack Murphy
The XFL season is in full swing, and it has so far been everything we could ask for and more. The New York Guardians have had a very interesting two-week swing, as they dominated the Tampa Bay Vipers 23-3, only to get shutout by the DC Defenders 27-0 in Week 2, throwing all our predictions into flux.
To celebrate their Week 1 victory, the Guardians took to Twitter and called out the Defenders in anticipation of their matchup. The Guardians may have bit off more than they could chew, however, as their tweet has not aged well into Week Numero Dos.
While the two teams went back and forth on social media prior to their Week 2 contest, the Defenders were the ones who put their money where their mouth is.
Oof, indeed.
Leave it up to a New York football team to brag about how dominant their defense is just to give up 27 points the following week. The Defenders would not let the Guardians hear the end of it on social media.
The Guardians will host the Defenders on April 4 for a rematch. Maybe they will be a little more humble prior to the game, and talk with their actions rather than words.
