Yandy Diaz Had Hilarious Response to Reporter After Being Told A's Stadium Would Be Packed With Fans
By Jerry Trotta

Not only did Tampa Bay Rays first baseman Yandy Diaz kick Wendesday night's AL Wild Card Game off with a leadoff opposite field home run, but he also provided the most whimsical pre-game quote.
Juan Toribio of MLB.com informed Diaz of the monstrous crowd expected to pile into Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum for the showdown, and the 28-year-old, rather than feel overwhelmed ahead of the win-or-go-home clash on the road, hysterically recalled a memory of his playing days in his native Cuba.
I told Yandy that there was going to be 50,000 people at the Coliseum tonight and he replied with: "There was people with guns when I played in Cuba."

Does anybody else wish they were present in the press room to see the immediate reaction on Toribio's face? We can't help but presume Diaz absolutely silenced the reporter. There's just no way the conversation continued after Diaz's feedback, right?
Fifty thousand fans? That's laughable compared to armed nutjobs walking around a baseball game.
Yandy Diaz's HR was only the 4th leadoff HR in a winner-take-all game in postseason history.

The night is young, but right now Diaz is winning in virtually every possible aspect.
