Yankees Absolutely Taunt Their Fans by Making Most Minor Trade in History Right at Deadline
By Adam Weinrib

The New York Yankees need starting pitching, bullpen help, and offense.
Instead of obtaining a major league player at the deadline horn, they chose to wait until 4:00 on the dot and announce that they were adding...a non-top-30 Colorado Rockies prospect in exchange for Scranton Shuttle arm Joseph Harvey.
The Yankees have acquired LHP Alfredo Garcia from the Colorado Rockies in exchange for RHP Joseph Harvey.

Tweeting this at the trade deadline is a crime in most states.
Garcia has a 6.00 ERA across a few levels of the minors this year, and Harvey was semi-effective, but that's not the point here.
At the buzzer, the pitching-rich Houston Astros obtained Zack Greinke from the Diamondbacks, the man who started Wednesday's game at Yankee Stadium, of all things.
When you're a good team, you go get elite players, and then you become a better team. Somehow, the Astros have figured this out while the Yanks spent their free agent budget on Happ, CC and Brett Gardner this winter.

The Yankees chose to use their prospect capital to warm a fireplace in Triple-A, now opting to, in a best-case scenario, face three of the best pitchers in baseball in a short series in Texas.
And we do mean VERY short. Yikes.
