Yankees Acquire Dull Bullpen Arm in Waiver Move With Giants
By Mark Powell

Talk about a boring move! I'll be here all night.
The New York Yankees' bullpen is one of the most electric in all of baseball, so maybe they're trying to temper expectations. In all seriousness, New York is well aware that they can't have enough help in the 'pen, especially with the playoffs approaching.
With this idea in mind, New York has acquired Ryan Dull of the San Francisco Giants in a waiver move.
The Yankees today acquired RHP Ryan Dull off of waivers from San Francisco and added him to the 40-man roster. In order to make room on the 40-man roster, RHP Brady Lail has been designated for assignment.

The Yankees have opted to place Dull on their 40-man roster, and option RHP Brady Lail to make room. Dull spent the majority of his career with the Oakland A's, and he has a career 4.08 ERA. Yet, he failed to make an appearance with the Giants, and thus was shipped to New York where he hopes to earn an opportunity.
Ryan Dull has a career 11.1 K/9 mark in the minor leagues; 8.7 K/9 in the big leagues.

Dull, age 29, does have some potential considering his high K/9 rate, although he has yet to show much of that in the big leagues.
In 32 appearances between Triple-A Las Vegas and Sacramento, Dull logged a 5.70 ERA with 53 strikeouts and 14 walks in 42.2 innings of work.
