Yankees Acquire Stud Pinch Runner Terrance Gore in Trade With Royals
By Sean Facey

The liquidation of the Kansas City Royals continued Wednesday as the team shipped off one of the league's star speedsters.
Stellar pinch runner Terrance Gore is headed to the New York Yankees, a team that could certainly use a jolt of energy on the basepaths, in exchange for cash considerations.

Gore, who won the World Series back in 2015 while with the Royals, famously spent the first five seasons of his career almost exclusively as a pinch runner. From 2014 to 2018, he had more stolen bases (27) than he did plate appearances (19). He also is 5-for-6 in steal attempts in his playoff career.
He saw more action at the plate this year for Kansas City, logging 58 plate appearances and a respectable .715 OPS. Gore also has 13 stolen bases in 18 attempts.

The Yankees don't have many players who can provide the type of speed that Gore has, so he could add an extra layer of running depth off of the bench, especially in the postseason. His 29.9 ft/sec sprint speed now stands as the best mark on the team.
Gore will report to Triple-A and wait for the chance to be added to the 40-man roster.
