Yankees Announce Date for Gerrit Cole's Second Start and the Game Will Be Televised
By Karl Rasmussen
New York Yankees fans hoping to witness Gerrit Cole's spring debut were sorely disappointed to discover the game wasn't being aired on national television. Well, the marquee offseason acquisition fanned two batters and walked one in his lone inning of work against the Pirates, and is now gearing up for his second appearance of the year.
Cole is set to take the mound again on Saturday against the Detroit Tigers, and fans will actually be able to tune in to this one.
Once again Cole will be limited to one inning as he prepares for Opening Day, and he'll be starting his five-day schedule as the Yankees begin to ramp up his workload as spring progresses.
The game will be broadcast on the YES Network.
Cole is coming off a sensational season in Houston and will now be tasked with headlining the Yankees' rotation. His role will be even more important considering the ailments to James Paxton and Luis Severino.
