Well, suffice it to say that Brett Gardner's 13th season in pinstripes isn't off to an encouraging start, and no, that evaluation has nothing to do with an injury or his actual performance.

NJ.com reported on Monday that the 36-year-old outfielder has filed a restraining order against a New York Yankees fan who has claimed that she's his "future wife," and that he sends her sexually provocative "signals" from the field during games.

Gardner is scheduled to arrive in Tampa for Spring Training on Monday, and the security crew at George M. Steinbrenner Field apparently all have photos of the woman, Gina Devasahayam, with explicit orders to not allow her past the gates (or certainly anywhere near Gardner himself).

The report states that Devasahayam attempted to sneak into the visitors' locker room at Camden Yards back in August while the Yankees played the Orioles before security ultimately escorted her out of the stadium.

Fast forward to October, and 46-year-old began an attempt to sue the organization, Gardner, AND the MLB shortly after being dismissed from Yankee Stadium after she tried to attend a playoff game.

It really makes you wonder what she would do if she ever managed to cross paths with Gardner.

For Gardy's sake, we hope this restraining order does its job and prevents Devasahayam from hassling him any further. If not, a lifetime ban from MLB venues and functions might very well loom in her future.
