So far, the New York Yankees haven't made much legitimate noise in anticipation of the MLB trade deadline. However, it may come as some comfort for Yankees fans that their bullpen coach has a solid relationship with one of the best pitchers remaining on the market.
After spending a year in Arizona between his two stints with the Bronx Bombers, coach Mike Harkey had the chance to work with Diamondbacks southpaw Robbie Ray. With Ray being a potential Yankees target, could his relationship with Harkley mean a possible move to New York is on the horizon?
As you wait for the #Yankees to make any kind of move ...

Mike Harkey, the Yankees' bullpen coach, thinks the world of Robbie Ray and believes he could win 20 games. Harkey was Ray's pitching coach in Arizona. https://t.co/AsrSQ46xuB
Clearly, Harkey has high praise for Ray. The lefty has been of one the most talked-about pitchers approaching the deadline, with a handful of suitors gradually falling in line in hopes of making a deal.
After missing out on Marcus Stroman, the Yankees are still looking for a new starter in their rotation. With the deadline just a day away, the time to act is now, and they could already be packaging up players to send to Arizona in order to land Ray.
The Yankees are reportedly discussing sending Clint Frazier in a potential deal for Robbie Ray or Archie Bradley, and could create a package to land both https://t.co/Gjnd45tZgP pic.twitter.com/BUXIy2N0dh

Yankees fans are rightly expecting a lot out of GM Brian Cashman this week, and there's not been any big news so far. However, if he able to land Ray by the deadline without sacrificing major assets, he'd make both the fans and Mike Harkey pretty happy.
