Yankees' Cameron Maybin Diagnosed With Grade 2 Calf Strain
By Parker White

It's not the same kind of loss, but right when the New York Yankees get their outfield healthy with the return of Aaron Judge, another important outfielder is heading to the shelf.
Cameron Maybin left Friday night's game with a calf injury and will land on the injured list, and on Saturday, it's been confirmed that it's a Grade 2 calf strain. And it'll be a while.
The Yankees are waiting until after today's game to make a roster move, Aaron Boone says. Cameron Maybin is still "certainly" going on the IL, he says. Maybin's strain is Grade 2; "it's gonna be a pretty fair amount of time."

There is not concrete timetable for his return, but, "It's gonna be a pretty fair amount of time," according to Yankee manager Aaron Boone.
The Yankees will also wait until after Saturday's game to make a corresponding move.
Aaron Boone says Cameron Maybin “certainly” will be going on IL. He has a Grade 2 strain. Will be out “a pretty fair amount of time.” Yankees don’t yet have a corresponding roster move, tho. They are waiting to get thru today to see what they’ll do(likely means pitcher coming up)

Even with the return of Judge and Stanton, Maybin was playing well enough that the Yankees wanted to keep him on the roster for depth purposes, handling that difficult decision with aplomb this week.
Maybin has appeared in 42 games for the Yankees this year and was slashing .314/.391/.500 with five home runs, 14 RBI and six stolen bases at the time of the injury.
