Cameron Maybin's Mother Makes 1st 2019 Trip to Watch Son in ALDS Game 3 After Battling Breast Cancer
By Chris Russo

After a solid night on the field, Yankees outfielder Cameron Maybin enjoyed a big personal victory off of it, as well.
The first-year Yankee played well off the bench and even homered in the Yankees' ALDS-clinching victory over the Minnesota Twins, but it was an even bigger victory to see his mother in the stands watching him, as he announced to his adoring fans the morning after the big game.
As many of you know, my mom battled breast cancer all season and was unable to travel to watch me play. She was finally able to make it out and cheer us on from the stands! So blessed to share this moment with her and pumped to keep it going. #ChaseTo28 #NaeNaeStrong pic.twitter.com/i0Qx8ivaF6

Maybin's mother, Renee, has fought breast cancer this year, and made her first road trip of the season to see her son play (and homer) in Minneapolis in a victorious Game 3.
Renee has battled throughout the 2019 MLB season, and her son announced in August that her cancer is in remission. Monday's performance in Minnesota was not a fluke, either, considering he also homered the day he announced his mother's remission.
Maybin announced in May that his mother had been fighting cancer for a few months, and has provided updates about his mom's health during the summer as he takes the field.
The strongest woman I know taking on cancer fearlessly. Thank you to everyone who has sent their thoughts and prayers to our family and those of you who purchased a #NaeNaeStrong shirt. You have all powered us to remain #NaeNaeStrong ?? pic.twitter.com/Kyg9jkzZZd

Maybin entered Monday's game as a defensive replacement before hitting a solo home run in the ninth inning, as the Yankees beat the Twins 5-1 in the game and 3-0 in the series.
