Yankees Demote Chance Adams and Top Prospect Domingo Acevedo Posts Cryptic Instagram Story
By Adam Weinrib
We're not sure what's up here, but we're going to do our due diligence and report every element.
Firstly, the Yankees have demoted punching bag Chance Adams back to Triple-A (sorry, kid!) after he soaked up plenty of innings in New York's 19-5 loss on Thursday night.
That we know for sure. It was announced. No speculation.
However, this next portion gets a bit dicey. We'd imagine that more pitching help would be on the horizon, and since the demotion isn't injury-related, that rules out anyone who's been demoted in the last 10 days (sorry, Adonis Rosa).
So, maybe welcome to the Bronx...Domingo Acevedo? The hulking top prospect has been on the minor league IL for some time, but also...flew into New York on Thursday night?
So, what's this? Some form of rehab? A really low-key promotion? Don't the Yankees usually use Ubers for such business?
Stay tuned; the corresponding announcement will come in the morning.
