Yankees' Domingo German Coming off Injured List Wednesday to Start Against Mets

Despite the injury bug that has avoided the proverbial can of Raid located in the New York Yankees clubhouse, there are pitching reinforcements on the way.
Yankees manager Aaron Boone announced that pitcher Domingo German will be activated from the injured list on Wednesday to start against the New York Mets in the Subway Series finale.
German has been out of action since June 8 due to a left hip flexor strain. The injury impacted the 26-year-old, who earlier in the season was one of the best pitchers not only on the Yankees, but in the entire league.
This past Thursday, German completed his final minor league rehab assignment for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. In that game, German allowed four runs (both from two-run homers) through four innings of work.
Prior to his injury, German compiled a 9-2 record, along with a 3.86 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 77 strikeouts through 13 appearances.
Even with the cavalcade of injuries, the Yankees continue to thrive and hold a comfortable lead in the AL East. Getting German back brings stability to the Yankees starting rotation, which is something they desperately need.
