Yankees Expected to Place Miguel Andujar Back on IL as Fight Back From Shoulder Issue Continues

While the New York Yankees were hoping and praying for the day Miguel Andujar would return from an early season shoulder injury, all that optimism was quickly dashed when it became apparent that he was clearly still laboring and was not 100 percent.

In an attempt to hit the reset button and get their third baseman back to full strength, Andujar will likely head back onto the IL.

Hope that Mike Tauchmann didn't get on the plane to Scranton just yet.

In just 12 games, Andujar already has a WAR of -1.0. With just six hits in 47 at-bats, good for a .128 batting average while most relegated to DH duty, Andujar just looked out of sorts. Hopefully, a stint on the IL will help get him back to full strength.

While the cast of characters that the Yankees have brought up in Andujar's stead have produced, the Yankees need No. 41 to get back to his 2018 form. Letting him struggle through a shoulder injury won't help him jump start his 2019 season.
