Ah yes, just what New York Yankees fans need: positive injury news when there's no foreseeable start date for the 2020 MLB season. But perhaps it's better than someone stubbing their toe and being ruled out for three months?
Here it is, folks! Manager Aaron Boone said that Giancarlo Stanton would be ready for Spring Training games right now if they were still ongoing! Grand!
Finally, some tremendous injury news for a guy who has been dealing with ailments over the past year ... when it doesn't matter at all. The good news is that he'll be ready for whenever Opening Day starts. The bad news? There's PLENTY of time for him to somehow suffer another injury while doing nothing.
Boone also provided an update on slugger Aaron Judge, who has similarly been plagued with baffling injury after baffling injury. He said "hopefully when it's time to play ball, Aaron will be with us."
Well, there you have it. The Yankees are on the mend, which is pretty much the only benefit from the delayed MLB season due to the coronavirus. Now it's a matter of when it'll start considering Opening Day is likely going to be pushed back even further.
