The New York Yankees have been hit harder by injuries than any other team already this spring, an unfortunate trend dating back to the start of last season. Well, fans were dealt the hardly believable news that stud left-handed reliever Zack Britton took a comebacker from Erik Kratz to the wrist during live batting practice and was forced to undergo tests.

The jaded fan base, which can't help but assume the worst lately, was taken aback by some rare positive injury news. Britton's X-rays and CT scan both came up negative and he was diagnosed with just a bruised right wrist.

Considering the Yankees have already lost a handful of key players prior to Opening Day, knowing their trusted southpaw will be good to go is a significant relief.

Britton, acquired in a midseason trade from the Baltimore Orioles in 2018, turned back the clock last season and looked like the man who once led the AL in saves and put up a 0.54 ERA one year.

Serving primarily as the seventh or eighth inning setup pitcher, Britton put up a 1.91 ERA while surrendering just three home runs all season long in 2019.

In a Spring Training that has seen everything go wrong, the Yankees can breath a sigh of relief knowing their southpaw setup man is not as badly injured as he could have been. A small victory, but a victory nonetheless.
