Yankees Have Surprisingly Good Odds to Land Gerrit Cole, Stephen Strasburg, or Anthony Rendon
By Parker White

Even though the New York Yankees are coming off a 103-win season, it doesn't mean they won't be aggressive in trying to improve their team through free agency or trade.
You should be thinking that if you are a betting person, at least, as the Yankees have surprisingly good odds to sign either Gerrit Cole, Stephen Strasburg or Anthony Rendon.
#Yankees odds to sign free-agents, according to @betonline_ag:

Anthony Rendon: 5/1
Gerrit Cole: 3/1
Stephen Strasburg: 3/1
Madison Bumgarner: 10/1
According to BetOnline, the Yankees are 3/1 odds to sign Cole and Strasburg, and 5/1 odds to land Rendon.
Maybe they know something all of us don't, but did they hear what Yankees owner Hal Steinbrenner had to say about the Yankee rotation?
Guys like Gerrit Cole and Stephen Strasburg should still be at the top of #Yankees list. What I just said doesn’t affect them. They’re two of the top pitchers in the sport.

Cole is 29 years old. CC was 28 when Yanks gave him that big contract.
Sign Cole (or Stras), @Yankees.
It's certainly possible that Steinbrenner is playing his cards close to the vest, but looking at his words at face value, he loves the current setup of their rotation. It didn't sound like someone who wants to spend big money for a starter like Cole or Strasburg if they even reach free agency.
It's interesting that the Yankees have good odds to sign Rendon. While all of us know that Rendon is one of the best third basemen in the game, Gio Urshela had a great 2019 campaign and they still have Miguel Andujar. Are they going to trade both or move them to utility roles?
As of right now, Vegas still thinks the Yankees are in line to reel in a big fish.
