VIDEO: It Seems Like James Paxton Doesn't Know How to Pronounce Gio Urshela's Name
By Jerry Trotta
The Major League Baseball season is one of the longest in all of professional sports. Roughly six months totaling 162 games is A LOT of time for teammates to spend together, and that's not even including offseason workouts and Spring Training. Well, it would appear that period wasn't enough time for New York Yankees southpaw James Paxton to learn how to pronounce the name of third baseman Gio Urshela. Checkout the Big Maple trying to hype up his teammate while speaking with YES Network's Meredith Marakovits.
Oh no.
This certainly isn't the manner in which Paxton wanted to be trending just a few short moments away from taking the ball in a pivotal Game 2 of the ALCS at Minute Maid Park on Sunday night.
Can somebody in the Yanks clubhouse please give Paxton a lesson on pronunciation? Urshela is simply way too valuable to his club to have teammates disrespecting him like this, even if it was an honest mistake.
