The subsequent revelation that all New York Yankees fans have been clamoring for was just disclosed: Gerrit Cole's introductory press conference is officially slated for Wednesday at 11:00 am.

There was some talk that the presser could be delayed even further, as GM Brian Cashman will have to tweak the Yankees' roster before the big moment. To make the signing of Cole (and re-signing of Brett Gardner) officially official, Cashman will need to make two cuts to the Bombers' 40-man roster.

Whether Cashman elects to orchestrate a trade to clear some payroll or merely option some expendable players down to the minors remains to be seen, but one or the other will have to transpire within the next 24 hours.

JA Happ, based on reports that emerged during last week's Winter Meetings, is currently considered the most likely player to be dealt. The veteran left-hander is notably set to make $17 million in 2021. Separately, hurlers Stephen Tarpley and Chance Adams could very well be designated for assignment given their alarming struggles in their limited big league stints across the last two seasons.

Who knows what Cashman has in the works, but a Yankees roster move(s) is imminent. Stay tuned, Bombers fans.
