Yankees Option Trio of Players to Triple-A Scranton Following Monday's Doubleheader

The New York Yankees were quick to make some minor roster moves ahead of Tuesday's clash with the Orioles.
Following their doubleheader on Monday, the Yankees sent pitchers Brady Lail and Joe Mantiply down to Triple-A, alongside 26th man Breyvic Valera who was called up as the additional player for the doubleheader.
Following tonight’s game, the Yankees optioned LHP Joe Mantiply and RHP Brady Lail to Triple-A @swbrailriders and returned “26th man” INF Breyvic Valera to SWB.

All three of the players featured in the doubleheader. Mantiply and Lail botch pitched in the second game.
Mantiply logged 3 innings, surrendering 3 runs on as many hits while fanning 2 batters. Lail also gave up 3 runs, lasting 2.2 innings in his MLB debut before being relieved by Nestor Cortes Jr.

Manager Jay Bell called him in and said: "You've got to make sure you're on time tomorrow, because you're going to have two - a Canadian one and an American one."
As for Valera, he went 2-for-6 at the plate across both games, scoring a run and drawing a walk in seven plate appearances out of the nine-hole.
The Yankees took each game of the doubleheader on Monday, taking down the Orioles 8-5 in the afternoon and 11-8 in the evening clash.
