On Monday, the New York Yankees reported that right-handed pitcher Jonathan Loaisiga was scratched from his start and right-hander Luis Cessa would take his spot.

It was unclear why Loaisiga was scratched at first, but the team has since revealed that he was placed on the 10-day injured list with a right shoulder strain. Right-handed pitcher Chance Adams has been recalled from Triple-A Scranton.

Just when it looked like the Yankees were getting healthy, as Aaron Hicks just came back from the injured list, another guy heads to the shelf.

In four appearances (three starts), Loaisiga has a 1-1 record with a 4.50 ERA and 13 strikeouts over 14 innings. It's unclear how long he will be sidelined, and he will likely return to Triple-A when he's healthy.

While Adams was promoted in Loaisiga's stead, it's Cessa who will be on the mound tonight. He's made 11 appearances this season, all in relief, and logged a 3.32 ERA with 25 strikeouts across 19 innings.

Adams, 24, has yet to play for the big league club this year. In six starts at Triple-A, the right-hander has posted a 2-1 record with a 4.80 ERA and has 37 strikeouts over 30 innings of work. While those numbers don't jump off the page, Adams rated as the Yankees' No. 20 overall prospect.

His first major league stint last year didn't go as planned, as he made three appearances (one start) and posted an ugly 7.04 ERA. Hopefully he has a better go of things this time around.
