4 Yankees Employees Reportedly Test Positive for COVID-19 in Florida

On Friday evening, Major League Baseball shut down all 30 Spring Training facilities after there was an uptick in COVID-19 cases in Florida and Arizona. First, it was the Philadelphia Phillies and Toronto Blue Jays who reported a handful of positive cases. Now, proper baseball powerhouse has added itself to the list.
According to George A. King III of the New York Post, four members of the New York Yankees -- at least three are staffers and not players -- have tested positive for the coronavirus out of Tampa.
Two of the four employees were non-players based out of George M. Steinbrenner Field in Tampa, while one of the two out of the team's minor league complex was a staffer who hasn't been near the facility for a while. The job title of the remaining team member is unknown.
King says that the Yankees administered tests this Friday, so there's a chance that they could receive additional confirmed COVID-19 cases in the coming days.
This isn't the first time the organization has seen positive test results for the coronavirus. Back in March, two minor league players in the organization were confirmed to have contracted the virus, resulting in the league suspending Spring Training.
Following the shutdown of Spring Training facilities, all teams will conduct preseason workouts from their home cities. New York Governor Andrew Cuomo confirmed on Saturday that the Yankees will train out of Yankee Stadium as long as the league and players' union can agree on a return-to-play plan for the upcoming season.
The Yankees initially reported to Florida to escape the spread of COVID-19 less than a month ago. Now, they're heading back to the Empire State due to these latest confirmed cases.
