Yankees' Projected 2023 Rotation and Lineup Are Flat-Out Nasty
By Sean Facey
It's no secret that the New York Yankees are loaded at all levels. Their major league roster is now arguably the most talented in baseball, and their farm system stacks up well against other teams across the league.
They've got superstars and prospects galore, all of whom will be with the team for the foreseeable future, and both their projected rotation and lineup (per Baseball America) for the 2023 season are absolutely filthy.
The rotation features three genuine aces in Gerrit Cole, Luis Severino and James Paxton (in this scenario, they're presuming the Yanks re-sign Paxton following the 2020 season). That three-headed monster is then flanked by the likes of Domingo German and Clarke Schmidt, two pitchers with strong potential to embarrass opposing batters come 2023.
And that's just the rotation. The lineup is every bit as nasty.
In 2023, the Yankees may very well boast an outfield of Giancarlo Stanton, Aaron Judge and superhuman prospect Jasson Dominguez, just 20 years old and starting in center. In the infield, Luke Voit, Gleyber Torres and Gio Urshela remain threats, while Gary Sanchez does the catching, and top prospect Oswald Peraza finds his way to second base at the age of just 22.
Oh and just for kicks, Miguel Andujar is still swinging the lumber as a designated hitter, so no need to worry about his defense being a problem.
That's scary. That's a team built to last. That's a dynasty in the making. The Yankees are absolutely loaded with talent, and in all likelihood, it's all staying put so that they can truly become a fully operation Death Star for years to come.
