Yankees Provide Injury Update on Luke Voit and it Definitely Doesn't Sound Good
By Scott Rogust

The New York Yankees have dealt with the injury bug far too often this season, and in cruel fate, they've been hit once again.
Slugging first baseman Luke Voit mysteriously exited in the middle of Tuesday night's game against the Arizona Diamondbacks and was replaced by Gio Urshela at first. With the trade deadline less than 24 hours away, some fans thought it was a potential move.
That turned out to not be the case, as the actual reasoning for Voit's removal was due to a core muscle injury, for which he'll be receiving an MRI later on Tuesday night.

This is not the news the Yankees needed to hear, especially with Wednesday's 4:00 p.m. ET deadline creeping up.
A core muscle injury is less than ideal for a baseball player, even more so for Voit, who's known for his powerful swing. In fact, Voit suffered a similar injury back on June 29 in the London Series against the Boston Red Sox, causing him to miss the next eight games.

While there won't be a specific recovery timeframe until the MRI results are revealed, the Yankees will likely expect Voit to miss some time.
