The New York Yankees updated fans on the health of James Paxton and Dellin Betances Sunday, and although the reports are mildly optimistic, their returns are still up in the air.

Paxton threw a bullpen on Sunday, and although he did not feel any pain in his left knee, he felt "discomfort," so he'll now have to throw another session on Tuesday before the team has a more significant update on his status.
Nonetheless, Aaron Boone is optimistic he'll return on this upcoming road trip, which would be a boost for the Yankees considering the unknown status of Masahiro Tanaka after he took a hit off the shin on Saturday.
Dellin Betances made 50 throws today from 90 ft. That’s a lot for this stage of rehab. Typically it’s been around 25. Said he felt good after today’s work, believes he’ll stretch out to 110 feet Tuesday. Still hesitant to give a timeline; goal is just to feel good at every step.

Betances is progressing slowly but surely, throwing 50 times from 90 feet without discomfort Sunday. It's excellent he's experiencing no pain, but the lack of a timetable for his return is something that does not sit well with Yankee fans.
Both Betances and Paxton have been missed tremendously and their returns to the roster will perhaps make this pitching staff the best in baseball.
