After the New York Yankees sent pitcher Chance Adams back down to Triple-A following his solid outing against the Tampa Bay Rays, fans were waiting for a corresponding roster move. The team finally made its decision on Monday.
Prior to tonight's game against the Baltimore Orioles, the Yanks recalled right-handed pitcher Jake Barrett from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes Barre.

Adams was called up a week ago when New York placed right-handed pitcher Jonathan Loaisiga on the injured list, but after three innings of work on Sunday they needed another fresh arm in the bullpen.

The Yankees selected Barrett off waivers from the Pittsburgh Pirates back in April. He's made two relief appearances for New York, but in 3.2 innings of work he's allowed six runs on six hits and two walks.
Down at Triple-A, Barrett has been much more effective and possesses a 1.17 ERA with 20 strikeouts over 15.1 innings of work.
We'll see if Barrett can rebound and pitch better at the major league level, but at the very least he'll give the Yankees a fresh arm in the bullpen.
