Yankees Recall Ryan Dull After Optioning Chance Adams

After sending down right-handed pitcher Chance Adams to Triple-A, the New York Yankees needed to make a corresponding move.
On Friday afternoon, the Yankees announced they've recalled right-handed pitcher Ryan Dull from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
The addition of Dull comes a couple days after they acquired him off waivers from the San Francisco Giants. Dull, a reliever by trade, made seven appearances out of the Oakland A's bullpen this year where he allowed a whopping 13 runs on 19 hits with eight strikeouts over nine innings of work.
It's been a tough season for Dull at two levels this year, making you wonder why the Yankees even picked him up, but he does give this bullpen a reliever who can go multiple innings. After last night's bloodbath, the Yankees need some more fresh arms after using Chad Green and Jonathan Loaisiga.
One thing Dull has going for him is a high K/9 (11.1) over the course of his minor league career that spans over seven seasons. Maybe the Yankees see something they can work with.
