Yankees Release Logan Morrison After Slugger's Request
By Thomas Carannante

The Logan Morrison era in New York has ended.
When the Yankees brought the former Rays and Twins slugger aboard, there was a chance he'd hit the MLB roster due to the slew of injuries plaguing the team. However, that never happened and Morrison felt 43 games at Triple-A was enough.
He requested his unconditional release on Tuesday and the Yankees granted it on Thursday.

And who can blame him? He slashed .289/.341/.658 with 29 runs scored, 15 home runs and 37 RBI during his time with the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders.
Too bad for him DJ LeMahieu is an AL MVP candidate, or else LoMo could've been getting reps in the Bronx.

After proving his consistency, perhaps other teams in need of a slugging DH or first baseman will give Morrison a chance after the All-Star break as front offices evaluate their rosters during the time off next week.
