VIDEO: Yankees Reliever Tommy Kahnle Reveals He's Never Heard of Tommy Edman During MLB The Show Tournament
By Adam Weinrib

Clearly, the Yankees weren't taking the Cardinals that seriously as a potential World Series opponent in 2019. Both Championship Series losers had a solid shot of meeting up in the Fall Classic, but ultimately avoided the collision course, and Yanks relief ace Tommy Kahnle similarly averted an awkward moment. If he had reached October's summit, he might've been called on to use his devastating changeup on Tommy Edman, someone he'd never even heard of until this weekend.

Awkward!
Playing as Kerry Wood against the Cards in this year's MLB Players' Association video game tournament, Kahnle claimed the "best" part of the whole thing was learning that players like Edman existed.
You know, the same Edman whose offense you could set the Cardinals' watch to in 2019.

How doesn’t Kahnle know who Edman is? https://t.co/sNHuj7KlqU
Kahnle was wonderful in 2019, but the versatile Edman hit .304 with 11 homers and 36 RBI while playing all across the diamond. We're sure if Kahnle had to, he'd have done the proper oppo research at the tail end of last season.
Luckily, this digital confrontation functioned in much the same way.
