You would think that the Minnesota Twins wouldn't even entertain the thought of doing business with the New York Yankees after dropping the last two games of their three-game set in humiliating fashion.

However, the world of baseball is a harsh mistress, and nothing is truly ever out of the realm of possibility.

With Gary Sanchez on the shelf with a groin injury, the Bombers have reportedly acquired minor-league catcher Brian Navarreto from the Twins for cash considerations.

This might not be the blockbuster acquisition the Pinstripe faithful were hoping for, but there's still time for that, and Navarreto fills much-needed depth at the catcher position in the club's minor league system.

Across 39 games for Double-A Pensacola in 2019, the 24-year-old slashed just .183/.235/.341, but almost everybody within the MLB landscape will tell you that he is renowned for his defense.

There's no doubting that general manager Brian Cashman bamboozled a healthy dose of Yankees fans when they looked at their phone and saw this particular notification.

Regardless, it was a necessary move, and you have to tip your cap to the GM and presume he has a few more tricks up his sleeves.
