Yankees Reportedly Identify 'Top 3' Choices for Starting Pitchers With Trade Deadline Looming
By Karl Rasmussen

The New York Yankees are looking to make a splash at the deadline, and with Marcus Stroman officially off the market, it looks like they're setting their sights on landing one of the other available aces.
According to Jon Heyman, the Yankees' Top 3 choices at the deadline are Madison Bumgarner, Trevor Bauer and Noah Syndergaard.
The Yankees top 3 starting pitching choices are Bauer, MadBum and Syndergaard — 2 guys increasingly unlikely to be traded and 1 very guy unlikely to be traded to them

The Yankees' interest in Bauer is interesting, especially following his meltdown on the mound during which he launched a baseball over the center field wall after giving up a pair of runs.
Bumgarner remains a question mark, considering the Giants' recent surge in the NL West, while Syndergaard may require a lofty asking price considering he plays for the Yankees' inner-city rivals.
Part of Yankees’ trade challenge is that their best pieces are mostly in the lower levels, and teams prefer major-league ready guys at top of a system. As @JeffPassan reported, other teams say Clint Frazier dangled as possible centerpiece

With CC Sabathia hitting the IL, the need for a starter is more urgent than ever, and Brian Cashman plans to be active at the deadline.
The Yankees have high hopes of landing a starter, and they've set their sights on some big-named targets. Landing any one of those guys could add some much-needed security to what has been a very unstable rotation in the Bronx.
