The New York Yankees are seeking top of the rotation talent and potentially a bullpen piece at the MLB trade deadline, yet there's one player they're unwilling to deal.

Yankees pitching prospect Deivi Garcia, whose rapid rise through the Pinstripes' system has been well-documented, is apparently off-limits despite New York's need for pitching. With the struggles of James Paxton and Domingo German of late, plus the uncertainty regarding Luis Severino's return for injury, the Yankees have more questions than answers in terms of their rotation come playoff time. As much as they'd like to keep Garcia out of these conversations, teams have every right to ask for that level of compensation.

Garcia's made his way through the Yanks' system this season, starting in Tampa, making a stop in Trenton and eventually making his way to Scranton. He's been compared to Pedro Martinez and surely will make his way to the Bronx sometime next season should he not be dealt by July 31.

Still, landing the likes of Madison Bumgarner, Marcus Stroman or Noah Syndergaard will require top talent. Per Heyman the latter is apparently the only name that could entice the Yankees to give up Garcia.
