Yankees Reveal Lineup for ALCS Game 4 With Giancarlo Stanton Still on Bench
By Karl Rasmussen
After Wednesday night's rainout, the Yankees and Astros will face off for Game 4 of the ALCS at 8:08 p.m. ET at Yankee Stadium. With the 'Stros holding a 2-1 series lead, the Bombers will send Masahiro Tanaka to toe the rubber in a critical matchup.
And the team has just revealed the lineup for Thursday night's clash, which includes Aaron Hicks in center field, and a certain slugger still on the bench.
DJ LeMahieu will once again lead things off and play first base, with Aaron Judge batting second, followed by Hicks. Gleyber Torres is in the cleanup spot, followed by Edwin Encarnación, Brett Gardner and Gary Sanchez. Rounding out the order is third baseman Gio Urshela and shortstop Didi Gregorius.
Giancarlo Stanton is once again not in the lineup, and it remains unclear if he'll be used as a pinch-hitter late in the game. The slugger has been dealing with a quad injury, which held him out of all but the first game of the series. His pregame testing Thursday was also far from encouraging.
This slightly altered lineup will hope to replicate its performance from Game 1 when the Yankees got after Zack Greinke, who is on the mound again Thursday night, for three runs.
