Yankees Do the Right Thing and Start Refunding Fans for 2020 Tickets
The calendar reads late April, and fans unfortunately still haven't made their way to Yankee Stadium to watch their beloved Bronx Bombers. With play still suspended, and a start date totally up in the air, many out there were wondering what would happen to all the seats they had previously purchased.
In typical New York fashion, the front office is doing right by their loyal fan base, and is already starting to refund money that was used for tickets, piece by piece.
While this move was expected from the Yankees eventually once the season's status became more ironclad, it's refreshing to see the execs aren't money-hungry and are willing to stay loyal to their fans by getting out ahead of this. There's no highway robbery going on.
The club had World Series aspirations for next fall, but things are obviously on hold right now due to the coronavirus pandemic. Once play resumes and fans are allowed back inside Yankee Stadium, you already know the place will be packed and rocking.
In the coming days, you'll likely see more and more fans come out and give thanks to New York for sending back their money for unused tickets. During these trying times, you know it'll be beyond appreciated.
