By Sean Facey

The Yankees just can't seem to shake their injury woes this year.
Manager Aaron Boone says that star slugger Giancarlo Stanton is headed to the injured list with a PCL strain.
Giancarlo Stanton is going on the IL. He has a PCL strain, Aaron Boone says.

He was pulled from Tuesday's game against the Blue Jays after reporting pain in his knee and echoed that before Wednesday's game. Mike Tauchman will replace him on the active roster and will head to London with the Yanks.
Giancarlo Stanton's knee is sore and stiff today but "nothing as far as any (IL) moves or anything like that, just seeing how the next couple hours unfold and even the next couple days," Aaron Boone says.

Stanton has appeared in all of nine games this year thanks to a barrage of injuries. In that handful of games, he's 9-for-31 with one home run and seven RBI.
He first went down back in April with a biceps strain. As he attempted to rehab that injury, other ailments cropped up. In sum, he also suffered a strained shoulder and calf before returning to action on June 18.
Giancarlo Stanton will be re-evaluated in 10 days, Aaron Boone said. Means this will be longer than a 10-day stint.

He's going to need longer than the allotted 10 days to recover, too. Boone said he'll be re-evaluated once the stint is over, meaning he likely won't return to action at that point.
The 2017 NL MVP hasn't had the chance to improve upon his 2018 campaign with the Yankees that left many fans wanting more.

At this point, all Bronx faithful want is for him to stay healthy, and who could blame them? Stanton's due $26 million for the season and is on the second-largest contract in baseball.
