Yankees Twitter Trolls Blue Jays With Drake Lyrics During Blowout Saturday Win
By Jerry Trotta
Something tell us that the New York Yankees were out to avenge their extra-inning defeat from last night in Saturday's second of a three-game set against the Toronto Blue Jays.
To say that the Bombers partook in a home run barrage at the Rogers Centre would actually perfectly describe their showing. Aaron Boone's men clobbered five home runs -- with Brett Gardner (2), Gleyber Torres, Luke Voit, and Mike Ford all joining in on the fun.
The imposing power display persuaded the Yanks' official Twitter account to troll their AL East rival mid-game by unleashing one of Drake's most coveted lyrics from his hit tune "Back-to-Back."
Talk about stepping on the throat of your opponent. Toronto was already dead, and the Pinstripes went out of their way to shovel a little extra dirt on the casket after Torres and Voit went...back to back. If only they'd won the World Series last year, they'd be trying for Jordan '96-'97.
Just go ahead and add another tally in the W column for Yanks (not that they necessarily need it).
With MLB's best record, New York's tweet just proves that they are oozing confidence and want ALL of the smoke with the postseason looming in just a few weeks time.
