The New York Yankees (56-29) grabbed the first game of their four-game set with the Tampa Bay Rays (50-38) in extra innings on Thursday, as the Yankee offense continues to be relentless and they've extended their division lead over the Rays to 7.5 games.

Right-hander Masahiro Tanaka will get the start for New York Friday, and he'll look to rebound after his last outing over in London where he gave up six runs on four hits over two-thirds of an inning against Boston. Tanaka did, however, toss a complete game shutout with 10 strikeouts against the Rays just over two weeks ago.

Former first round pick Brendan McKay made his MLB debut last weekend and he threw six shutout innings with three strikeouts against the Texas Rangers. The crafty left-hander won't blow you away with velocity, but he looks more like a pitcher than he is a hitter, as he's hoping to be the next Shohei Ohtani.
