The New York Yankees (41-27) and Chicago White Sox (34-34) will play game three of their four game series Saturday night at Guaranteed Rate Field. The White Sox will be going for a series win after taking the first two games of the series. Chicago won easily on Friday night behind a ten run outburst and another excellent start by breakout starter Lucas Giolito.
How to Live Stream the Game
First pitch is slated for 7:10pm ET. The game will be broadcast on WGN and YES, live streaming will be available on the MLB streams subreddit.
The Yankees have hit their worst slump of the season since their 6-9 start. In their last 10 games the Bombers are just 3-7, and their starting pitching has been the main culprit. A Yankees starter has not thrown a quality start since June 7th in Toronto when J.A. Happ threw seven innings of one run ball.
Yankees Lineup
DJ LeMahieu will lead things off for the Bombers on Saturday, followed by Luke Voit and Aaron Hicks. Slugging backstop Gary Sánchez hits cleanup, ahead of Didi Gregorius, Gleyber Torres and Clint Frazier. The order is rounded out by Cameron Maybin and Brett Gardner.
Chad Green will take the ball to open the clash up as the Yankees are running a bullpen game. Green has logged an abysmal 8.27 ERA this year, but has only allowed 1 run in his past six appearances, two of which were as an opener.
White Sox Lineup
Leading off for the ChiSox is Leury García, followed by shortstop Tim Anderson and first baseman Jose Abreu. James McCann is in the DH spot and batting cleanup, ahead of Eloy Jiménez and Welington Castillo. José Rondón is in at third base and batting seventh, with Yolmer Sánchez and Ryan Cordell filling out the lineup.
Reynaldo Lopez will be on the mound for the White Sox, looking to improve on his 6.21 ERA. He's been incredibly inconsistent this year, at times appearing like an ace, though he's also been prone to extremely poor showings. He's 4-6 on the year with 72 strikeouts across 75.1 innings pitched.
The White Sox have been doing just about everything right in a rebuilding year, and are starting to construct a young core. Two of the team's young studs shined in their victory Friday night. Lucas Giolito continued his excellent season by notching his 10th win, and lowered his ERA to a sparkling 2.22. Jiménez is breaking out, and has been on fire in his last seven games with a .360 average, 5 home runs, and a ridiculous 1.040 slugging percentage.
