Yannick Ngakoue is Generating Eagles Buzz on IG and Landing Him Would Get Haters off Howie Roseman's Back
By Dylan McCaffrey
Philadelphia fans are passionate, energetic, and very vocal about their grievances. It's no surprise that those same fans are all over Howie Roseman to make a big move every offseason. This winter, he seemed all too quiet, leading Eagles fans to start the cacophany of complaints.
Then, suddenly, he changed the secondary with a Darius Slay trade and extension overnight. Now, there are reports that the Eagles are looking to make a trade for Jacksonville Jaguars defensive end, Yannick Ngakoue, who's made it no secret that he wants out.
"God will always place you where you need to be," indeed. That cryptic tweet came just as reports about the Eagles' interest in Ngakoue surfaced, and it started to get fans excited.
If they can add another stud pass rusher thanks to Jacksonville's defensive fire sale, their d-line could become even more talented. And Ngakoue is clearly aware of the talk surrounding him and the Eagles -- after getting Seattle fans excited with an airport photo earlier, he's turned his Instagram story into a rumor breeding ground.
He's trolling Eagles fans like it's his job. And it could become his job very soon, if the Eagles continue to close in on a deal with the Jaguars.
Philly hadn't made any huge free agency signings, aside from their three-year deal with DT Javon Hargrave, prior to Thursday morning. But then, via the trade market, came Slay, who could usher in one final cherry on top, to quiet the clamoring public.
With 41 combined tackles, 8.0 sacks and 15 QB hits last season, Ngakoue could be the newest and most popular addition to Philadelphia football. Make sure to keep checking his Instagram for further updates.
