Yasiel Puig Looks Ridiculously Jacked as Reds Rock Throwback Sleeveless Jersey's
By Jerry Trotta
We've seen a profusion of throwback uniforms in Major League Baseball throughout the first three months of the 2019 season. However, we might have just found the most unique and flashy of the bunch and it just so happens to come from the current bottom-feeders of the NL Central.
In the club's final game before the All-Star Break on Sunday, the Cincinnati Reds elected to flaunt a retro, sleeveless throwback uniform. And we'll go out on a limb and say that Yasiel Puig was the first player in the clubhouse to endorse the decision.
The vest jersey is kind of a forgotten style in today's game. The Colorado Rockies' black alternate vest and the Arizona Diamondbacks' cream throwback stand alone as the only current sleeveless uniforms. Though, of course, both clubs wear undershirts.
The Reds, on the other hand, wore the sleeveless jersey (with no undershirt) for 11 seasons beginning in 1956 before resorting back to sleeves in 1967.
It might take some getting used to, but we'd absolutely love the Reds to throw these on every once in a while.
We already know that Puig will back the movement.
