Yasmani Grandal Contract Details Revealed for Record-Breaking Deal With White Sox
By Scott Rogust

After missing out on big-name free agents like Manny Machado and Bryce Harper last winter, the Chicago White Sox struck early on Thursday. The team signed former Milwaukee Brewers catcher Yasmani Grandal to a massive four-year, $73 million, the richest deal in franchise history.
But wait, there's more.
According to Bob Nightengale of USA Today, Grandal will receive $390,000 in award bonuses each season, a full-no trade clause in 2020, and a limited no-move clause for his final three seasons.
Yasmani Grandal's 4-year, $73 million deal also includes $390,000 in award bonuses each year, everything from regular-season MVP to World Series MVP to All-Star to Gold Glove to Silver Slugger. He has a full no-trade clause in 2020, and a limited no-trade clause the next 3 years.

As it stands, Grandal's contract will only get richer if he nabs any award like a Gold Glove or Silver Slugger or league MVP. That's right, another $390,000 PER AWARD.
Last winter, Grandal was the biggest catcher on the market following his stint with the Los Angeles Dodgers. But the long-term offers sent his way weren't cutting it, and he instead opted to sign a one-year, $18.25 million contract with the Brewers.

While his batting average left a lot to be desired this past season, Grandal made up for it with 28 home runs and 77 RBI. In fact, Grandal hit a two-run homer off Washington Nationals ace Max Scherzer in the NL Wild Card Game.
Yasmani Grandal is a rich man now, but the money will continue to pour in over the next four years, as long as he manages to meet the right thresholds.
