Yoenis Cespedes' Remaining Salary With Mets After Freak Injury Will Make You Puke
By Parker White

The New York Mets are in the midst of a terrible stretch and they suffered a gut punch on Monday when it was reported outfielder Yoenis Cespedes will not be coming back in 2019 after suffering a fractured ankle in a freak accident on his ranch.
What makes this even worse is the amount of money they'll have to pay him to sit on his couch in a cast.
$21.3M: What the Mets owe Yoenis Cespedes from now through the end of the season.

Of the $29 million he was owed in 2019, the Mets will have to pay Cespedes $21.3 million from now until the end of the season. Oh, and he has a base salary of $29.5 million for 2020.
Just a reminder that the Mets likely recoup upwards of 75% of Cespedes' contract via insurance. https://t.co/sl1dc8q1IG

Yes, insurance will likely be paying plenty of Cespedes' contract since he's out with a serious injury, but his salary still counts on their books. I guess this is what happens when you continue to make wrong move after wrong move.
The Mets will learn one day, right?
