Yordan Alvarez Can Truly Transform the Astros Lineup When They're Fully Healthy
By Seth Carlson

The Houston Astros announced Saturday that they have called up No. 3 prospect Yordan Alvarez from Triple-A Round Rock.
In 56 minor league games this season, the young outfielder has hit an astounding .343 with 23 home runs and an eye popping 71 RBI.

The numbers Alvarez put up in such a short span of time are video-game like, particularly the fact he had more RBI than games played this season. The call-up is expected to inject life and energy into an Astros lineup that has been worn down with injuries of late.
While Houston has played well despite the absences of George Springer, Jose Altuve, Carlos Correa and Aledmys Diaz, it's all the more better if the team can dip into its organizational talent and find immediate help in the short term. It seems they have found it in Alvarez.
On the @ATTSportsNetSW broadcast, Jeff Luhnow says he thinks Yordan Alvarez and Kyle Tucker are the two best position players in all of Minor League Baseball (not just the #Astros system).

Alvarez was acquired by the Astros in a deal that sent reliever Josh Fields to the Dodgers in 2016 and it looks like the Astros are going to come away with that trade as huge winners. With all his potential to tap into, Yordan Alvarez can be exactly the injury reprieve Houston needs to power through.
