Youthful Tom Brady and Patriots Offense Look Completely Unbeatable Even Without Antonio Brown

The New England Patriots entered their season opener on Sunday night with plenty of media attention. Was it due to them raising their sixth Super Bowl banner inside of Gillette Stadium? No. It's because they signed stud receiver Antonio Brown to a one-year contract, mere hours after he was released by the Oakland Raiders.

Fans, media pundits, and writers all mentioned how the move was impressive, as well as some devilish form of overkill. Their points were proven, as the Patriots curb-stomped the Pittsburgh Steelers 33-3 on Sunday night, without AB in uniform.

New England posted 465 total yards on the night, while converting 50% on third down plays. Quarterback Tom Brady was downright surgical against the Steelers secondary (as he always is), as he completed 24-of-36 pass attempts for 341 yards and three touchdowns.

Oh, and to make things more comical, Julian Edelman threw a 32-yard pass to running back James White on a trick play to get the party started.

As for the receivers? Phillip Dorsett had a career game, as he hauled in all four of his targets for 95 yards and two touchdowns. Edelman, being the usual threat that he is, caught six passes for 83 yards. Recently reinstated Josh Gordon also showcased how dominant he can be, as he recorded three receptions for 73 yards and a touchdown which saw him bully his way past the Steelers secondary to reach the end zone.

The Patriots were already favorites out of the AFC to make Super Bowl LIV this year with this offensive squad. Now, they're adding Antonio Brown to this unit?!?

And the defense. The DEFENSE! The defense isn't even what this is about, but folks...it's downright impossible to break through.

New England doesn't even need Brown, but as they've showcased in nearly two decades, they're willing to bring in a talented athlete with off-field drama to bolster their squad and extend the mileage on their dynasty. Antonio Brown is the latest example after forcing his way out of Oakland, with New England giving him a clean slate after his eventful week.

The AB-Patriots pairing becomes official on Monday, just in time for them to prepare for their tough matchup against...the Miami Dolphins. The New England Patriots are going to be the equivalent of a cheat code in the 100th season of the NFL.

And, on top of it all, Tom Brady looks 22. We can't explain it either.
