VIDEO: Bruins' Zdeno Chara Bizarrely Not Penalized for Launching Mikhail Sergachev's Stick Into the Air
By Michael Luciano

Boston Bruins captain Zdeno Chara is one of the most physical players in the entire NHL, and he's willing to bend or break the rules to keep up his infamous reputation. Luckily for Chara, the refs in Boston's game against the Tampa Bay Lightning let him do pretty much whatever he wanted, as there was no penalty given when he launched Tampa Bay defenseman Mikhail Sergachev's stick way, way up into the air.
Watch on the left as Chara blasts Sergachevs stick 30 feet into the air. You can see it fly. That is an automatic call. Except tonight. pic.twitter.com/0At94qnG2A

Seems like a really weird time to swallow your whistle, refs. If you let a guy as tough as Big Z get away with that, who knows what other stunts he'll pull before this game is over?
