Former Washington State head coach Jake Dickert stunned a lot of people when he decided to leave Pullman for Wake Forest. Seemingly out of nowhere, the Cougars were left without a head coach, with the news coming after John Mateer entered the portal too.

Now, though, Wazzu has a new head man to lead the program. That'd be South Dakota State's Jimmy Rogers, with the news breaking over the weekend.

This wasn't the 'splash' hire that a lot of WSU fans were hoping for, but Rogers helped SDSU win a National Championship. Things will be a bit tougher for him now that he's going to be taking over in the Palouse, but he brings plenty of energy to the job. Time will tell if this turns out to be a great hire or not for Washington State.
