Chiefs DE Frank Clark Calls Out Patriots and Wants to Play Them Again in Playoffs
By Scott Rogust
Besides those up in the New England area, the rest of the nation was ecstatic to see the Patriots home winning streak end at the hands of the Kansas City Chiefs this past Sunday. While the game was marred with missed calls by the referees, there were no complaints from the Chiefs squad.
After the win, Chiefs defensive end Frank Clark talked loads of trash towards the Patriots' offensive line and can't wait to see them again in the upcoming playoffs.
“We’ll be seeing them in the playoffs,” Clark said, via Ben Volin of The Boston Globe. “Hopefully we do. I want them again. They don’t have a tackle that can block us. Speed, power, whatever we were throwing at them, they couldn’t handle.”
You think Clark is confident after the win? We'd venture to say yes, yes he is.
Last year in the AFC Championship Game, the Chiefs bread and butter was their explosive offense, which had to compensate for the lackluster defense. In Week 14, the script was flipped. The offense couldn't get anything going in the second half, and the defense stepped up when it mattered most.
Kansas City recorded three sacks, one interception, and eight tackles for loss in Foxborough in the 23-16 win. Clark accounted for one sack and two tackles for loss, while playing a pivotal role in the Chiefs' game-winning goal line stop.
If the Kansas City Chiefs and New England Patriots are destined to meet in the postseason, there's going to be some bad blood.
